The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) is requesting your help in a critical initiative - a practice analysis study to help develop the PMHNP-C examination blueprint. Results of the study will ensure the PMHNP-C exam accurately reflects the requirements of current practice and aligns with national NP certification criteria. AANPCB has already completed a feasibility analysis, which determined the need for a PMHNP certification to be offered by AANPCB.

This practice analysis is one of the first steps in the process of developing a PMHNP-C exam. The success of this analysis will depend on the active participation of PMHNPs from a wide range of practice settings, at different career stages and from across the country. Please know that not everyone who expresses an interest will be invited to participate, but a large number of interested NPs will help provide a balance in the representation of PMHNPs.
