The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) is pleased to announce the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) has granted accreditation, effective June 11, 2025, to the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-C) Certification Program.
NCCA is the accrediting body of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (formerly the National Organization for Competency Assurance). Since 1977, the NCCA has been accrediting certifying programs based on the highest quality standards in professional certification to ensure programs adhere to modern standards of practice in the certification industry. With more than 130 organizational members representing over 310 NCCA-accredited programs, I.C.E.'s mission is to advance credentialing through education, standards, research, and advocacy to ensure competence across professions and occupations. Please visit www.credentialingexcellence.org for more information about NCCA and its accreditation standards.
AANPCB's PMHNP program is now dual accredited, having received accreditation from the Accreditation Board for Specialty Nursing Certification (ABSNC) in January 2025. This is an incredible achievement, having launched our new program only last year. While not a requirement, AANPCB pursues dual accreditation for all our certification programs as part of our commitment to quality and excellence.
