American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board Call for Nominations
The American Academy of Nurse Practitioner Certification Board (NPCB) is now accepting nominations and self-nominations for committed and qualified nurse practitioners to serve on the NPCB Board of Commissioners. This year, we are electing two Family Nurse Practitioners and one Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the ongoing excellence of nurse practitioner certification.
The NPCB is responsible for maintaining certification standards and ensuring alignment with best practices. The Board offers input and guidance on organizational decisions and governs all major decisions affecting certification programs and processes.
Candidate Qualifications
NPCB welcomes candidates who:
- Hold current licensure and are working as a Family Nurse Practitioner and/or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner
- Demonstrate professionalism and leadership
- Possess strong collaboration and communication skills
- Commit to upholding professional standards for nurse practitioners
- Contribute to the breadth of perspective on the Board
- Have experience with nurse practitioner certification activities (preferred but not required)
Board Term & Commitment
Board terms are three years in length. Meetings are held in person at least twice per year, with virtual meetings scheduled every 1-2 months.
