AANPCB 2-for-1 certification for ENPs

The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board is updating the Emergency specialty NP (ENP-C) certification examination and, for a limited time, offering a 2-for-1 incentive. We are seeking the help of ALL eligible candidates to sit for the ENP exam between January 2 and February 14, 2023. Your exam score and certification will be available after March 1, 2023.

AANPCB will offer one (1) of the following incentives to all eligible candidates:

NPs certified with AANPCB: Eligible candidates are qualified to receive a one-time no cost*

ENP examination. The examination must be taken within the required timeframe.

AANPCB candidates who are taking the FNP exam: All eligible Emergency NPs who sit for

the AANPCB family NP examination and become FNP certified PRIOR to January 2, 2023 will be qualified to receive a one-time no cost* ENP examination. The ENP examination must be taken within the required timeframe.

Family NPs NOT certified with AANPCB: Eligible candidates who wish to sit for the ENP

examination between January 2 and February 14, 2023, will receive the one-time discounted rate of $120 (with AANP/AAENP membership) / $195 (AANP/AAENP non-members)*.

*Candidates must submit full payment to receive application approval. Once the candidate sits for the ENP examination within the required timeframe of January 2 - February 14, 2023, they will receive the applicable refund.

Who is eligible to apply for the emergency specialty NP certification?

Certified FNPs who complete one (1) of the following three options are eligible to sit for the exam:

Option 1 - CE & Clinical Hours: A minimum of 2,000 direct emergency / urgent care

practice hours as a certified NP in the past 5 years and 100 hours of continuing emergency care education (of which 30 hours must be emergency-related procedural skills) within those 5 years.

Option 2 - Academic Program: An approved academic emergency care graduate or

post-graduate NP program

Option 3 - Fellowship Program: An approved advanced practice emergency care

fellowship program.
