September 2018 - AANPCBs Mission is to "Provide excellence in testing and certification for nurse practitioners." 2018 marks AANPCBs silver anniversary as an independent, non-profit certifying body for NP certification. Over the past 25 years, AANPCB has successfully launched five accredited certification programs - the Family NP (1994 - current), Adult NP (1994 - 2016), Gerontologic NP (2007 - 2012), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care NP (2013 - current), and the Emergency NP specialty certification (2017 - current). Known for its excellent practice-based examinations and high quality customer service- AANPCB is the leading certifier of primary care NPs. As of 09/05/2018, active NP certifications totaled 114,800.
